PR HACKS & HINTS FOR OUTSTANDING ZOOM TV & CONFERENCE PRESENTATIONS – THE COMPLETE GUIDE

Have you experienced seeing yourself on TV via Zoom yet? Chances are you felt it wasn’t your best self.  Or maybe you noticed that you were completely blacked out during that digital conference presentation you did?

Don’t be too hard on yourself, instead, congratulate yourself for looking for solutions.

A lot of people are learning a lot of things about how to look great on Zoom. It’s one thing to miss a beat during an internal meeting, quite another to misrepresent yourself during a live stream.

We’ve been busy incorporating Zoom hints and hacks into our ongoing media training with our clients, and the results speak for themselves. Our clients are prepared, confident, and getting callbacks for webinars, conferences, and even more TV interviews.

In a normal world (if you can recall it), your PR team would be right at your side until the moment you hit the stage or the set. But today, we’re all having to be our own producers and take control of our image.

As an industry, it is more important than ever that we present our “essential businesses” strategically and professionally, which is why we wanted to share our top 3 favorite hints and hacks. And if you want an extra dose of our very best hints, download all of them for FREE, right here.

Zoom Lighting

Natural light is the absolute best light for Zoom TV interviews or professional presentations. Simply turn your computer so you’re facing a window. You’ll love the difference that makes and so will the producers you’re working with. If that’s not possible, you can buy yourself an O-Ring light, they will run you about $45 on Amazon (not an affiliate link).

Zoom Backdrops

As fun as those backdrops are, without a green screen, they rarely look natural. Plus, in a world where work-from-home is commonly accepted, it’s not usual to have a home backdrop, in fact, we think it adds credibility. Yes, you should do a very careful sweep of what’s behind you, but showing some personality is a welcome reprieve. If that’s not possible, by yourself a branded step & repeat to stand up behind your chair.

Zoom Audio

This is tough for a lot of folks. Get in-ear, noise-canceling headphones with a mic like these (not an affiliate link). Your voice will be clear and it will help the audience focus on what you’re saying instead of the background noise. While we’re at it, mute ALL your computer and phone notifications. There’s nothing more distracting to a viewer or listener.
